When I say design, what do you think of? Maybe something involving graphics, aesthetics, or "style"? That’s often what I think of. But design isn’t just about the visual elements of a website or a car or a building; rather, it’s about finding solutions to real problems and creating a better user experience.

Check out the Elements of Web Design workshop this Tuesday (9/15) from 6-8p in ideaLAB (Central Library, Level 4), hosted by Laurie Kubitz-Maness of DPL’s Digital User Experience department. The workshop will cover everything from what design actually is to some best practices. It’ll also include some hands-on activities ranging from design thinking exercises to playing a round or two of Hex Invaders. This is a great resource for anyone dabbling in web development and graphic design as well as those simply interested in creating and partaking in more functional and beautiful things.
